What is a Canine Good Citizen?
Canine Good Citizen is a 10-skill test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners. The 10 test items on the CGC test are practical, functional behaviors that every dog should have to be welcomed in the community.
The test items are: accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, appearance and grooming, loose leash walking, walking through a crowd, sit/down/stay on cue, recall, reaction to another dog, reaction to distractions and supervised separation. Upon completing class we will have an evaluator come in and test each dog team (date/time - TBD) to earn your AKC certificate!
